Ben Lewis
Associate Hydrogeologist
Mr. Lewis has more than fifteen years of professional experience with regional groundwater basin studies in the Greater Southern California and San Joaquin Valley regions with focuses on SGMA support services and water supply studies. Mr. Lewis has prepared basin-scale hydrogeologic conceptual models, water balances, and groundwater flow models. Mr. Lewis also has experience with agricultural water demand analyses and land subsidence management studies as well as using groundwater flow models to assess project/no-project conditions, future projections, and relative attribution of impacts. Mr. Lewis also has field and project management experience with large-diameter municipal well construction projects.
Georgie Aronson, GIT
Project Geoscientist
Ms. Aronson has more than nine years of professional experience with project management oversight and field inspection on projects involving siting, design, drilling, construction, development and testing of 27 high-capacity municipal water supply wells and two monitoring wells. Ms. Aronson has led numerous well siting studies, well condition assessments, preliminary design reports for future wells, technical specifications preparation for well projects. She has led and supported basin annual reports, SGMA compliance tasks, and Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) preparation. Her field experience includes lithologic logging during pilot borehole drilling, observation of geophysical logging, aquifer zone testing, well construction, well development, pumping tests, and collection of groundwater quality samples, including PFAS sampling.
Thomas Feistel, PG, CEG
Senior Geologist
During Mr. Feistel's more than 10 years of professional experience he has worked on a broad range of projects spanning from his early work in engineering geology to his current work in hydrogeology. Mr. Feistel’s work in the field of engineering geology focused on earthwork and foundation design, including working on large hillside mass grading projects, conducting extensive geologic field investigations, and landslide mapping and mitigation. Mr. Feistel's work in hydrogeology has focused largely on project management of municipal production well siting, construction, development, and testing. These projects have been constructed in both bedrock and alluvial formations and included: field logging and geophysical logging, isolated aquifer zone testing, well construction, well development, pumping tests data collection and analysis, and collection of groundwater quality samples (including PFAS sampling). He has also led well siting studies and prepared technical specifications for well drilling, preliminary design reports for future wells, and well summary reports for completed wells.
Lauren Healey, PG
Ms. Healey has more than six years of professional experience including development of basin-scale groundwater flow models for analysis of sustainable yield, future projections, project operational scenarios, groundwater quality changes, and groundwater impacts. Her experience includes conceptual model design, model construction, development of input files, model calibration, sensitivity analyses, and analyzing model outputs. Ms. Healey is experienced in MODFLOW-based modeling using ModelMuse, Groundwater Vistas, and Visual MODFLOW, and is also familiar with MODFLOW-OWHM modeling using command line and other modeling software such as WinFlow. She also has experience with various aspects of regional groundwater basin studies including compilation of large hydrogeological databases, analyses for water budget components, and preparation of detailed hydrogeological cross sections. Ms. Healey also has experience with oversight and field inspection on projects involving drilling, construction, development, and testing of high-capacity municipal water supply wells. Her field experience includes inspection of pilot borehole drilling and lithologic logging, geophysical logging, well construction, well development, pumping tests, aquifer zone testing, and collection of groundwater quality samples.
Matthew Hutchinson
Senior Geoscientist
Mr. Hutchinson has more than 11 years of professional experience including oversight and field inspection on projects involving monitoring well and municipal production well drilling, construction, development, and testing. His work has focused on project management, client/contractor coordination, borehole/well data analysis, well design, field staffing scheduling, invoice review as well as field inspection of pilot borehole drilling and logging, geophysical logging, isolated aquifer zone testing, well construction, well development, pumping tests, and collection of groundwater quality samples, including PFAS sampling. Mr. Hutchinson has also provided inspection of lining and repair of existing wells, well destruction, CPTs, and pressure transducer installations. In his 11 years of experience with Thomas Harder and Company, Mr. Hutchinson has inspected the destruction of seven production wells, the drilling and installation of 20 small diameter monitoring wells, the drilling and installation of 30 large diameter municipal wells. He also provided project management, technical support, analysis, and field observation for the installation of two large-diameter slant wells constructed for ocean desalination supply at a resort in Mexico.
Jessica Wright, GIT
SProject Geoscientist
Ms. Wright's professional experience includes analysis of groundwater level and quality trends, preparation of basin-scale structure and groundwater level contour maps, and annual reporting for SGMA and watermaster compliance. Ms. Wright’s experience includes work with basin-scale groundwater flow models including analysis of surface and groundwater components, preparation of model input files, sustainable yield analysis, model scenario development including project/no project analyses, and analysis of model outputs. She has field experience with installation and maintenance of pressure transducers and telemetry as well as observation of municipal well drilling and rehabilitation projects from borehole drilling, construction, development, testing, and groundwater sampling.
Matthew Ford
Mr. Ford is a geoscientist with experience in groundwater flow modeling, hydrological analysis, technical reporting, and water resources policy. His work at Thomas Harder & Co. includes developing and calibrating MODFLOW-based groundwater models, completing safe-yield and water budget analyses, preparing technical reports, and advising agricultural and municipal clients on groundwater and surface water management. His background also includes research at the University of Arizona on statewide groundwater trends and agricultural water use, contributions to water quality and policy work in the Colorado River Delta, and applied meteorological analysis for the National Weather Service. Mr. Ford is proficient in a broad suite of modeling and analytical tools, including ModelMuse, Groundwater Vistas, FLOPY, Python, ArcGIS, HYDRUS, and HECRAS, supporting his ability to evaluate groundwater conditions, assess pumping impacts, and inform water management decisions.

Ms. Espinosa oversees daily operations, employee support, and organizational processes with a people-first approach. Ms. Espinosa oversees all insurance operations, including certificate management and policy renewals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a timely execution.
Russell Benoy, GIT
Mr. Benoy has comprehensive professional experience specializing in groundwater resource management and compliance with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), including supporting work to prepare Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs) and developing surface and groundwater budgets. He possesses expertise in basin-scale groundwater modeling using MODFLOW, along with advanced data analysis and visualization skills utilizing tools such as ArcGIS, Python, and R. His technical abilities encompass analyzing land subsidence with remote sensing data, interpreting hydrogeologic datasets to define subsurface layers, and evaluating interconnected surface water systems. Furthermore, Mr. Benoy is experienced in the oversight and inspection of municipal supply and monitoring wells from drilling through final testing and has experience providing expert technical support and analysis for legal hearings.
